then it says later on...''bake cookies, rotating sheets halfway
through...let cool on sheets'' What are baking sheets? And do
they mean parchment paper?
Does lined mean on the bottom?

DO NOT use wax paper as previously suggested. Parchment paper
is completely different and can be bought in the same area as wax paper
and the such.

would be using 2 tablespoons to form a roundish ball. You then drop the
dough from the teaspoon onto baking sheets - which are flat metal or glass
sheets, which are made specifically for baking cookies. Go to your
supermarket or cookware store to buy these. Parchment paper is white thin
paper which is not greased. You put the paper ON the baking sheets, and
the cookie dough on the parchment paper.
Baking sheets are also known as cookie sheets. They are
rectangular, & may have a slight edge. Some are completely flat. Do NOT
confuse parchment paper with wax paper. The wax will melt in the oven.
Parchment paper can be found near the foil & plastic wrap at a grocery
store. It keeps things from sticking to the pan. It sounds like you are
making ''drop'' cookies. That means you don't have to roll the dough out,
or make shapes. You just drop spoonfuls of dough onto the baking sheet. Just make sure you keep the spoonfuls close to the same size, & leave some room between them, because some cookies spread. Rotating the pans halfway through just keeps them cooking evenly. Good luck!

across the cookie sheet(baking sheet)

buying cookies from your local bakery

pans only rectangle. You can line the pan with wax paper. Yes, this
means the bottom.
